CUT THE REAL

work series | 2025  ...... more paintings coming soon =)

At first glance: soft colors, pastel tones, familiar motifs – toys, fragments of memory, seemingly harmless images from a childhood we think we know. But beneath the surface, the cut begins.

CUT THE REAL confronts us with the ambivalence of beauty. This series of images breaks the illusion of innocence – not loudly, but quietly, disturbingly subtle.

For even gentleness holds tension, even the childlike bears cracks. What appears as memory turns out to be an echo – fragmented and ambiguous.

The pastel palette doesn’t disguise the theme; it makes it all the more palpable: good is never entirely good. The sense of safety these images suggest is laced with unease and with something intangible, yet deeply felt.

These works don’t search for truth – they cut into the real and divide it. And perhaps it is exactly there, in the cut, that the real reveals itself. »
